Which state in the USA has the most universities?

I have a quirky goal of applying to at least one university in the state with the most universities. Problem is, I'm not sure which state that is, could anyone steer me in the right direction?

It's all about finding the right fit, not just for the educational experience, but also for your personal growth and career aspirations.

For example, if you're interested in technology or start-ups, you might be drawn to schools in Silicon Valley. If, however, you're interested in film, schools in Los Angeles might be a better fit. Similarly, states like New York and Massachusetts also have a significant number of high-quality institutions, particularly if you're interested in fields like finance, arts, education, or health services.
