Looking into Eastern Michigan State University

I'm considering Eastern Michigan State University as one of my options, but I'm not too familiar with it. Can anyone shed some light on what attending this university is like? Any insights on the academics, campus life, or student-support services would be really helpful.

Eastern Michigan University (I believe there may have been a slight confusion with the names) is a comprehensive, co-educational public university located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It offers a wide array of undergraduate, graduate, specialist, and doctoral programs in arts, sciences, and professions.

One distinctive feature of EMU is its strong focus on research, application, and human services. In terms of academics, it has robust programs, especially in fields like education, business, and nursing. The student-faculty ratio at EMU is 15:1, which allows for smaller class sizes and more personalized attention from professors.

The campus life is pretty vibrant, with over 200 student organizations, including fraternities and sororities, allowing students to pursue their interests and form tight-knit communities. The university also hosts numerous events throughout the year such as art exhibits, plays, concerts, and athletic events, fostering a lively campus culture. EMU's Division I athletics also brings an exciting dynamic to campus life.

In terms of student support services, Eastern Michigan University offers a variety of resources tailored to student success. There's the Bruce T. Halle Library, which provides research support, and the Holman Success Center, offering free tutoring and success coaching.
