What makes a university great?

I'm a rising junior and beginning to look at universities. One question that I have is what really makes a university great? Is it the reputation, the academics, the diversity, the campus life, or something else?

This is an excellent question! When considering what makes a university great, there are indeed many factors at play. For a thorough analysis, let's break these characteristics down:
