Curious about Marywood U

Hey everyone, I've recently started looking into Marywood University. Does anyone have feedback on their programs, campus life, or anything else I should know before considering this university?

Marywood University is known for having strong programs in Art and Design, Music, Theater, and Architecture, so if you're interested in these areas, it could be a good fit for you. The campus is moderately-sized with around 2,500 students, providing a tight-knit community feel where you can get to know your classmates and professors well.

Their campus is located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, offering unique advantages. It's close to the Pocono Mountains, providing ample opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, but it's also not far from larger cities like Philadelphia and New York City if you enjoy city life or are considering internships.

Marywood is a Catholic university, and though you don't need to be Catholic to attend, it's important to note that its values and mission are rooted in Catholic tradition. This influences many aspects of campus life, from service opportunities to educational philosophy.

The student body is also known to be supportive and friendly, with students often participating in many of the 80+ clubs and extracurricular activities on campus. In terms of housing, freshmen and sophomores generally live on campus, further fostering a sense of community.

Keep in mind that Marywood is a Division III school in athletics, so the sports scene is competitive, but the emphasis is placed more on balance between academics and athletics, as well as participation.

Lastly, Marywood has a strong focus on service, so there are numerous volunteer opportunities and service-learning courses for students to participate in. In essence, if you're looking for a small, community-oriented university with a focus on the arts and service, Marywood could be a great fit.
