Which Military Branches Use Tanks?

Hi guys, just a curious high school junior here looking into potential careers. I'm interested in the heavier machinery, like tanks, within the military. Does anyone know which branches get to operate and use these? Thanks for the help!

Hello there,

When it comes to utilizing heavy machinery like tanks, The United States Army and the Marine Corps are the two main military branches that operate them.

The U.S. Army is perhaps the most known branch for tank operation, as it's the core ground combat force in the military and widely recognized for its extensive deployment of tanks and other armored vehicles.

The Marine Corps also operates tanks, but it's worth noting that they tend to utilize a broader mix of equipment due to their unique role as a quick-reaction force. In the past, they had an independent tank battalion, but most of the tank operation has been incorporated into combined-arms units.

Both branches would provide you with training to operate these machines securely and effectively. It's fantastic that you're exploring your options. It's important to remember that a potential military career involves a lot more than just operating heavy machinery, so I would also encourage you to consider the other aspects of military life when making your decision.
