Degrees at Soka University of America?

I've lately been interested in Soka University of America, but I'm not really sure what their strongest degree programs are. If anyone could share some insights, I would appreciate it. Does anyone know which fields they specialize in?

Soka University of America, situated in Orange County, California, is a liberal arts school known for its strong emphasis on international exposure and developing global citizens. The university has a unique, holistic approach to liberal arts education that leans heavily towards students' interpersonal development, fostering of critical thinking abilities, and emphasizing inclusivity and global perspectives.

The distinctive feature about Soka University of America is that it offers only a single undergraduate degree - a B.A. in Liberal Arts, which students can concentrate in one of five areas: Humanities, International Studies, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Environmental Studies, or Life Sciences. The strength of its program draws from a broad-based educational approach, which not only provides a sturdy grounding in the chosen concentration but also nurtures vital skills that are applicable across various domains.

Humanities at Soka tends to be very popular, especially for those interested in history, philosophy, or art. International Studies is another strong area, which aligns with the university's commitment to fostering global citizenship. Here, students explore global issues with an interdisciplinary approach, preparing for roles in diplomacy, international development, and similar fields.

Soka also places a strong emphasis on language proficiency and study abroad experiences, with mandatory study abroad terms in the junior year that are fully funded by the university.

However, while Soka offers broad programs in these specific domains, the university doesn't offer specialized or professional degrees you might find at a larger institution, such as engineering, business, or nursing. If you're looking for that type of educational experience, Soka may not be the best fit.

But if you aim for a high-quality liberal arts education in a multicultural and globally oriented environment, Soka can be an excellent choice. Remember, it's important to research thoroughly and make an informed decision based on your educational and career goals. Good luck with your college search!
