How to properly report honors on the Common App?

I've received a few awards and honors throughout high school and I'm filling out the honors section in the Common App. Can somebody give me a rundown of what's expected to be reported here? Just wanna make sure I'm doing it right and not underreporting or overreporting anything.

Definitely happy to guide you through this! In the Common App honors section, you want to report any awards or recognition you've received during your high school years. This could include academic honors like making the honor roll, winning a science fair or essay contest, or receiving departmental awards. Don't forget to include any non-academic awards as well, such as athletic MVP awards or recognition for community service. Be sure to prioritize your honors; list the most impressive or relevant ones first. Remember, it's not just about the quantity of the awards, but also the quality and relevance to your intended area of study or application in general. For example, if you're planning to major in English and you've won a national writing competition, that’s an achievement you'd want to highlight at the top of your list. Keep your descriptions concise and focused on the impact or level of selectivity, if applicable. Good luck with your application!
