Thinking about Santa Barbara CC - What's the Acceptance Rate?

Hello! I'm a junior, and I'm seriously considering applying to Santa Barbara Community College next year. I haven't found any official numbers regarding their acceptance rate. Does anyone know how competitive it is to get accepted? I'm working hard in high school but I want to be realistic about my chances. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Community colleges like Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) typically have different admission criteria compared to four-year universities or colleges. Usually, community colleges operate on an open admission basis for high school graduates and GED holders, meaning that any student who has completed high school has a chance at being admitted. While some specific programs within the college might have further competitive requirements or prerequisites, the general college acceptance is typically not competitive.

However, remember that being admitted doesn't necessarily guarantee you can immediately take any course you want. Prerequisite courses or placement exams may be required for specific courses or programs.

As a result, now is a good time to look at the course catalogues and determine what the requirements are for the program or classes you're interested in at SBCC. If there are courses you'd like to take that have prerequisites, it might also make sense to see if you can take those prerequisite classes while you're still in high school.
