Suggestions for universities in New Orleans (Tulane specifically)?

Hey all, I'm a junior who's recently started looking into colleges in New Orleans, specifically Tulane University. I'd really appreciate any tips or suggestions from people familiar with Tulane or any other university in New Orleans!

Tulane University is a prestigious institution in New Orleans known for its strong programs in biology, business, political science, and psychology, to name a few. Its vibrant multicultural environment and location in one of America’s unique cities can offer rich experiences internationally and locally.

Tulane takes a holistic approach to the admissions process. Your academic performance, rigorous coursework, extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and essays will all be evaluated. Pay close attention to your essays- use them as an opportunity to illustrate your personality and demonstrate your fit to Tulane.

Outside of academics, Tulane encourages students to be active members of the community. Community service is an integral part of a Tulane education, and most students volunteer in some capacity during their time here.

Tulane, however, is not the only notable institution in New Orleans. Loyola University New Orleans, situated next to Tulane, is known for its strong programs in Music and Music Business, and has a great Communications and Film program.

University of New Orleans (UNO) is a public research university that is particularly recognized for its Computer Science and Engineering programs.

If you're interested in the medical field, you might also want to look into Xavier University of Louisiana, which sends more African American students to medical school than any other college in the US.

To decide which university suits you, consider factors like your major, campus culture, cost, scholarship opportunities, and location within the city. Each school offers campus tours and information sessions that can give you a sense of what the school is like. Be sure to explore these options to help make your decision.
