Can anyone give a review about California Poly Tech Pomona?

I'm seriously considering California Poly Tech Pomona but haven't had a chance to visit yet. Can anyone tell me a bit about the campus, academics, student life, etc? I'm planning to major in Engineering if that helps.

California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, or Cal Poly Pomona, is known for its "learn by doing" philosophy. Students often laud the school for its practical, hands-on approach to education. Particularly in your field of interest, Engineering, the curriculum is designed to provide a great deal of real-world experience through projects and collaborative work.

In terms of academics, the College of Engineering is well-regarded and offers several different specializations, such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, among others. Class sizes for the Engineering courses are manageable, fostering a conducive learning environment.

As for the campus itself, it is quite expansive and beautiful, encompassing over 1,400 acres. It boasts a very outdoorsy, park-like setting with walking paths and green spaces. Some students find the campus to be large, so there may be some walking involved to get from one class to another.

In terms of student life, there are myriad opportunities to engage with the community. The university offers numerous clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities catering to a diverse range of interests - from academic associations to recreational clubs. There's also a known emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility if that aligns with your interests.

On-campus housing is also available, though some students choose off-campus accommodations for a different experience. The university's proximity to Los Angeles also offers opportunities to explore cultural activities and job opportunities in and around the city.

All in all, Cal Poly Pomona college life is a blend of rigorous academics, practical experiences, and a vibrant student life. The Engineering program, in particular, is known to equip students with skills that are highly sought after in the job market.
