Thoughts on Marquette University in Michigan?

I'm a Michigan native and considering staying closer to home for college. I'm looking at Marquette University but can't seem to find much about it online. Can anyone shed some light or share experiences of their campus life, academics, etc?

I think you might be a bit confused about the location of Marquette University - it's actually located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, not in Michigan. You could potentially be confusing it with Northern Michigan University, which is located in Marquette, Michigan. It's an important distinction because the two schools and regions do offer different experiences.

Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is a pretty large private institution with around 8,500 undergraduates. It offers a broad range of majors, with programs like Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, and Marketing being among the most popular.

The campus life at Marquette is quite active, with plenty of student clubs, sports, and community service opportunities. It's also located in an urban area, meaning you'd have access to the cultural and recreational activities Milwaukee has to offer.

Academically, Marquette is competitive; the average admitted student has a GPA of around 3.6. As it's a Jesuit university, you can expect a strong emphasis on service, ethics, and personal growth. If your faith is important to you, Marquette could be an excellent fit as the university has a notable religious presence.

On the other hand, if you were referring to Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan, it's a much smaller public university with about 7,600 undergraduates. Located in a more rural setting, it could offer a completely different kind of experience that might appeal for different reasons, like access to outdoor activities, for example. The common majors there include Nursing, Criminal Justice, and Psychology.

It would be beneficial to clarify which university you meant to ask about to get more accurate responses. You might also want to consider visiting the campuses, if possible, to get a better sense of where you'd fit best. Either way, both schools could offer a great college experience, it just depends on what specifically you're looking for.
