Virginia is home to several colleges renowned for their Computer Science programs.

University of Virginia (UVA): UVA’s Computer Science department is part of the School of Engineering and Applied Science, but they also offer a BA in the College of Arts and Sciences. They're known for a strong CS program and have numerous research opportunities both during the school year and over the summer.

Virginia Tech: Their Department of Computer Science is highly respected and offers a wide range of research opportunities as well. In addition to the traditional BS in CS, they also offer degrees that combine CS with other fields like Computational Modeling and Data Analytics.

George Mason University: They have a solid CS program and close proximity to Washington, D.C., providing ample internship opportunities at tech companies and government agencies. They also have designated pathways on Data Science and Cybersecurity.

College of William and Mary: Their Computer Science department offers a distinctive curriculum that emphasizes both the theoretical and practical facets of the field.

When considering these programs, you'll want to think about more than just the curriculum; consider factors like class size, faculty accessibility, research opportunities, internship options, and the networks that the college can offer you in your field. It can also be helpful to visit the campuses, if possible, to get a feel for their community and see where you think you could thrive.

Remember to also analyze the admission processes of the targeted schools because the selectivity rates could vary, influencing your choice of Early Decision/Action or Regular Decision.
