Possible SAT Score: What's the cap?

I've been prepping for my SAT and aiming to get the highest score possible. But, I keep hearing different things about the maximum score. Can someone clarify what the highest possible SAT score is?

The highest possible score on the SAT is 1600. This score is the total of the two section scores, each of which ranges between 200 to 800, with 800 being the highest. The two sections are Mathematics and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing.

The scoring structure of the SAT has gone through various changes over the years, which might have led to some confusion. However, since 2016, it's a 1600-point scale. Note that scoring highly is not the only factor that colleges consider during admissions. They take a holistic approach which includes your GPA, course rigor, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation, and essays, amongst other elements.

Remember to practice under timed conditions to get familiar with the test format and improve your speed, and review your mistakes thoroughly to improve your accuracy. Good luck with your preparation!
