NECC in Haverhill, MA - Worth it?

Guys, anyone here who's attended Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, MA? I'm thinking about enrolling there after I graduate high school. Would love to hear about your experiences, classes, professors, etc.

It's good to explore and seek insight about your potential choice of college, so kudos to you. As for Northern Essex Community College (NECC), it definitely has its own unique strengths.

Regarding academics, NECC offers various Associate degree programs and certificates across several disciplines, from healthcare and business to STEM and liberal arts. Keep in mind that community colleges like NECC can be especially beneficial for students who want to get general education requirements completed at a lower cost before potentially transferring to a 4-year institution.

One of the distinct aspects of NECC is its classes, particularly class size. With small classes, you receive personal attention from your professors, allowing for a better learning experience. Many students appreciate this feature because it gives them a chance to participate more actively in class discussions and easily ask questions without feeling overshadowed by a large number of students.

When it comes to teachers, most students have positive reviews about their professors' dedication and willingness to help. Of course, like in any other college program, not every professor will be a perfect match, so it's a good idea to check RateMyProfessors or similar sites before registering for class sections, if possible.

Beyond academics, NECC also has a range of clubs and activities for students to engage in, which can be a great way to meet friends and explore interests outside the classroom.

Keep in mind that everyone's experience is different, so what worked for one student might not work for another. It's also important to consider what you're hoping to achieve at NECC and align those ambitions with what the college has to offer. Best of luck with your college journey!
