Texas State University has a variety of strong programs, but a few fields of study generally stand out.

First, Texas State's McCoy College of Business Administration is quite reputable. It's recognized for its emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking, social responsibility, and global understanding. This program provides practical experiences and mentoring from experienced professors, making it a well-rounded program for business students.

Second, the university has an excellent Health Professions program which includes, among other things, physical therapy, respiratory care, and health administration. The hands-on experiences and interactive learning simulations available to students in this field can be monumental in preparing for their careers.

Another standout is the School of Music, which is one of the largest in the region. It offers a broad range of specialties, from performance and composition to music education and music theory. The school hosts many events and festivals throughout the year that students can participate in.

Finally, Texas State is home to an acclaimed Geography Department. It's actually one of the largest single-campus programs in the United States, offering a diverse range of research opportunities and areas of study - including Geographic Information Science, Urban and Regional Planning, and Environmental Geography.

In terms of non-academic features, Texas State is known for its beautiful campus and vibrant student life. With the San Marcos River running through its campus and opportunities for various water sports, it's certainly popular among outdoor enthusiasts. It also boasts a diverse student body and a strong sense of community.

It's always a good idea to match the strengths of a university to your own academic and personal interests, so I hope this gives you a better understanding of what Texas State University can offer!
