Which military branch keeps you on dry land?

So I'm not the biggest fan of being at sea or in the air and I was wondering, if I join the military, which branch would keep me mostly on dry land? I know this might vary depending on the role, but just looking for a general answer.

While all branches of the military have roles that could involve sea or air exposure, it sounds like you might be most interested in the United States Army or the Army National Guard.

The Army is the primary land-based military force, focusing on land operations and ground warfare. While certain positions might still involve being out at sea or in the air (for example, in Army Aviation or Transportation Corps), there are many roles, such as Infantry, Armor, Field Artillery, and others, that are primarily land-focused.

The Army National Guard is similar, but it also serves dual federal and state missions, meaning that when it's not serving under the Department of Defense, it's under the jurisdiction of individual states.

It's crucial, however, to remind you that this is a broad perspective. Depending on your specific role, job, or mission within each branch, you might sometimes find yourself at sea or in the air.

Speak with a recruiter from the Army to learn more about the specific jobs you could pursue and under what circumstances you might be required to be in an environment that's not solely land-based. That way, you have more detailed information to make the most informed decision for your future military career.
