Scholarships for 1450 SAT Score?

Got a decent score on my SATs – 1450. Pretty pleased with myself! So, I was wondering if there are scholarships I could apply for with my score? Preferably outside of the sports ones (cause let's face it, I'm more for the books). Much appreciated!

Congratulations on your SAT score - a 1450 is quite impressive! It's a great foundation for your college applications and can certainly make you eligible for a number of scholarships. A lot of these scholarships depend on the institution, as many universities offer merit-based or academic scholarships, often with SAT scores being a factor in determining eligibility.

For example, with your score, the University of Arizona offers the Wildcat Excellence Tuition Award which provides from $1,000 to $12,000 per year depending on residency status. Schools like the University of South Florida, Clemson University, and Florida State University also offer scholarships for high SAT scores.

In addition to the scholarships offered directly by colleges, several corporations and organizations offer scholarships that sometimes consider SAT/ACT scores. The National Merit Scholarship Program is one such program that rewards top PSAT/NMSQT scorers, but it's not exactly the same as the SAT. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's College Scholarship Program is another opportunity that doesn't specifically consider SATs, but instead takes a more holistic view of a student's academic achievements

Remember, many scholarships also take into account your GPA, essays, letters of recommendation, and demonstrated leadership and service in addition to your test scores. They usually have an application date quite early, sometimes up to a year before entering college, so do make sure to apply on time.

Best of luck with your search! Don't forget to also fill out the FAFSA to determine your eligibility for federal and state aid, as well as institutional financial aid at most colleges.
