Getting into Alverno - Advice Needed

I've been looking into Alverno and their programs seem really interesting to me. Can anyone share info about their admissions process? Are there specific admission requirements I should be aware of?

Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has a more holistic admissions process. While they look at your academic records, they also weigh personal accomplishments, leadership skills and community involvement heavily.

For starters, here's what you'll need to submit:

1. Application form: Alverno uses the Common App, so you can complete your application online.

2. Transcripts: You will need to submit your high-school transcript. If you've attended any colleges, those transcripts will be required as well.

3. Letter(s) of Recommendation: While not compulsory, it is beneficial to include one or two letters of recommendation from teachers, advisors, or employers who can speak to your skills and potential for success.

Alverno does not require the SAT or ACT for admission. That said, if you have taken the SAT or ACT and believe your scores reflect your academic abilities, feel free to submit them - they could potentially earn you some scholarship money.

The admissions staff at Alverno also pay close attention to your personal statement. This is your opportunity to tell your story and highlight any accomplishments, experiences, or challenges that have had a significant impact on you. Being specific about why you're interested in Alverno and what you plan to bring to the campus can help you stand out.

Alverno follows a rolling admissions policy, meaning applications are reviewed as they are completed, so it's beneficial to apply early.

Remember, while meeting the admission requirements is important, it doesn't guarantee admission. The college will look at your entire profile - both academic and extracurricular - before making their decision.

Best of luck with your application to Alverno! It's a great school known for its commitment to developing leadership skills and fostering a sense of community among its students.
