AP Lit - Presentation Necessary?

Hi folks! I will be enrolled in AP Lit this fall and I'm dreading the idea of giving a presentation. Please tell me it's not true that you HAVE TO do a presentation in this course? Can someone clarify what's expected?

In general, the expectations and assignments associated with AP Literature and Composition courses can vary widely depending on the teacher or the school's curriculum. Some teachers may indeed require students to give presentations as part of their grade, while others might not. A presentation in AP Lit could involve analyzing a particular work of literature, discussing an author's style, or delving into literary and rhetorical devices.

However, the actual AP exam itself, administered by the College Board, doesn't include a presentation. It consists of a multiple-choice section and a free-response section. So, while presenting could be a valuable learning and assessment tool in your coursework leading up to the exam, it's not part of the AP exam.

If you're feeling uneasy about the possibility of having to give a presentation, I would recommend reaching out directly to your teacher or looking at your class syllabus if you have one. It's always a good idea to know what's expected in your course, and your teacher can give you clarity and maybe even some guidance if you're feeling anxious.
