Info about UPenn's M&T Program

So I’ve been doing some research and UPenn’s M&T (Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology) caught my eye. Does anyone know what kind of GPA or standardized test scores are generally expected, and the types of experiences or extracurriculars that would make a candidate stand out?

UPenn's M&T program is highly competitive, and typically admits students with top-notch academic profiles. While UPenn does not provide specific score ranges for M&T admits, considering UPenn's overall academics, admitted students would likely have top-tier GPAs (close to 4.0) and extremely high SAT or ACT scores. Remember, for the 2024-2025 application cycle, UPenn is test-optional, but applicants to the M&T program may still find it advantageous to submit strong test scores to showcase their mathematical and quantitative abilities.

As for extracurriculars and experiences, those that demonstrate an interest in both management and technology, are particularly prized. Some examples of such experiences might be a leadership role in a school’s business club, creating and managing a successful fundraiser, starting a tech-related initiative or club, participating in tech-focused competitions, or undertaking a meaningful tech-related internship.

Of the utmost importance though is a demonstrated passion for integrating technology and business, and how you expressly communicate this passion and your experiences in your essays. You'll need to explain why you're interested in both fields and how you plan to merge them in your future career. This integration is a distinctive part of the M&T program, and effectively expressing your commitment to this concept will be vital for a successful application.

Finally, maintain a balanced application. Admissions committees value candidates who have a strong spike, an area they have excelled in, balanced with an overall profile demonstrating diversity of thought and experiences. So, while you definitely want to highlight your passion for and achievements in business and technology, don't to overlook other dimensions of your profile that add to your uniqueness as an applicant.

Hopefully, this gives you a clearer idea of what M&T is looking for in applicants. Good luck!
