Visiting Johns Hopkins University?

Hey! I'm considering Johns Hopkins University as one of my top choices. Given the current situation, I can't visit the campus physically. Has anyone done a virtual tour? Or is there any other way I can get a feel for the campus without physically visiting?

Hi there! You're absolutely on target by looking at different ways to get a feel for JHU's campus while face-to-face visits are off the table. One option is a virtual tour, which Johns Hopkins offers along with other online resources to get familiar with the campus and its environment.

A virtual tour can provide panoramic views of the campus, inside looks at various facilities, and descriptive audio to give you a sense of the place you might be spending years of your life. You can also review an interactive map that can be found on the university's site to see the campus layout, which can be a great starting point to get your bearings on where various academic buildings, dining halls, or dorms are located.

Johns Hopkins also conducts virtual information sessions with admissions officers, which can be of tremendous value. These sessions not only offer comprehensive data about the university, but also allow time for questions that you might have regarding academics, campus life, or the admissions process.

Lastly, you can engage with current students or alumni. This can be achieved by attending virtual student panel discussions that are regularly held at JHU. Sometimes the most valuable insights come from those who have experienced campus life firsthand.

Remember, when selecting a college, having that "right fit" feeling is vital. While online methods can't wholly replicate the feel of physically being on campus, they can certainly give you a good sense of the university's atmosphere. So take your time, explore these virtual resources, and get as much information as you can to make an informed decision. Good luck!
