Visiting Purdue University

Hey everyone! I'm really interested in Purdue and was thinking of visiting campus. For those who have visited, what were your impressions and what are some areas on campus that you think are must-sees? Any advice or experiences shared would be hella appreciated.

Visiting a college campus is always a great way to get a real feel for the atmosphere, architecture, and overall campus vibe. Based on what many students say, the Purdue University campus is both lovely and engaging.

The Memorial Union is most certainly a must-visit. It's the heart of student life at Purdue, with a variety of dining options, shops, and recreational spaces. It's also home to a bowling alley and billiard tables, so there's something for everyone.

The Horticulture Garden is also worth seeing if you're interested in green spaces. It provides a serene place to relax, with beautiful seasonal displays.

Purdue is known for engineering, so if that's something you're interested in, you may want to visit the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering. The building is architecturally impressive and named after the first man on the moon who was also a Purdue alum. You can see a moon rock and statue of young Neil Armstrong right there.

The university's libraries, such as the Hicks Library, are also excellent places to explore, given their wide collection of resources and comfortable study spaces.

For sports enthusiasts, heading over to the Ross-Ade Stadium could be nice too. Even if you can't catch a game, just being in the stadium where Purdue’s football fans gather can be exciting.

Remember each person's experience is different, so these recommendations come from a diverse array of opinions. Have a great time exploring Purdue and really try to envision yourself there – does it feel like somewhere you could call home for the next four years?

In terms of advice for your visit, try to engage with the students. Purdue has a strong community vibe, so don't hesitate to ask students about their experiences. They can provide insights that go beyond what a standard campus tour might offer. Also, try to eat in one of the dining courts if possible to get a glimpse of what meal times might look like for you.

Have a wonderful visit and soak in as much as you can! The campus can speak to you in ways a website or brochure simply cannot. It's another step closer to finding the perfect college match for you.
