Weighing the Pros and Cons: How good is Fordham?

Been exploring colleges and Fordham keeps popping up but I don't really know much about it. I would love some advice - is Fordham a good school in terms of academics and student life?

Fordham is considered a strong institution both in terms of academics and student life. Academically, it offers a broad range of undergraduate programs, and it's particularly well respected for its business programs, through the Gabelli School of Business. The university has a strong emphasis on liberal education, so regardless of your major, you'll engage with a broad range of subjects that help to develop critical thinking and communication skills.

The school is divided between two campuses, Rose Hill located in the Bronx, and Lincoln Center, right in Manhattan. This gives students two very different experiences, but also the opportunity to live in and explore one of the world's greatest cities. Both campuses are relatively small, which could mean more personalized attention from professors and a more tight-knit community feel, but they're also part of the sprawling metropolis.

In terms of student life, Fordham has over 200 student clubs and organizations, covering a wide range of interests. There's a fair amount of school spirit, especially around homecoming and other sports events, since Fordham competes in the NCAA Division I. The proximity to NYC also offers a plethora of cultural, internship, and job opportunities.

However, with the benefits of being in NYC, there are also drawbacks. Cost of living, even with university housing, can be high and life can be pretty fast-paced. While Fordham's campuses offer some protection from this, it's still a factor to bear in mind.

In conclusion, like any school, Fordham has its pros and cons, and it may be a great fit for some students depending on your individual preferences and career aspirations.
