What's the acceptance rate for out-of-state students at the University of Florida?

So, I'm considering applying to the University of Florida but I live out of state. I heard that the competition for out-of-state spots can be much tougher. Does anyone know the acceptance rate for out-of-state applicants? Thanks in advance!

While the University of Florida doesn't publicly release a separate acceptance rate for in-state versus out-of-state students, it's common practice for state schools to have a limited number of seats for out-of-state students, which can make the competition tougher. As of the most recent data, the overall acceptance rate at the University of Florida is around 23%.

About 75% of the students at the University of Florida are from Florida itself. Because state schools like UF receive funding from their respective state governments, they are often mandated to admit a certain percentage of in-state students. Thus, as an out-of-state student, it's possible that the acceptance rate may be slightly lower.

However, it doesn't mean you don't stand a chance. Be sure to present a strong application. Focus on maintaining high academic standards and demonstrating your unique qualities through your extracurricular activities or your personal essays. Remember, even as an out-of-state student, the university's admissions committee is looking to see if you're a good fit for the university, so showing your interest in the school can be beneficial as well.
