Can anybody share experiences from Our Lady of the Lake University ??

I have been looking at Our Lady of the Lake as one of my options for school next year but I have trouble expanding my knowledge beyond just what's on their website. Can anybody here help me out with some insights about the university, such as the campus environment, academics, housing, student life, etc.? Thanks in advance!

Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) is a small, private Catholic university located in San Antonio, Texas. The campus is beautiful with a Spanish colonial architectural style. One of the standout features is the stunning Chapel of the Sacred Heart at the campus center. Many students say it feels like a close-knit community due to its small size.

Academically, OLLU is known for its programs in Social Work, Psychology, and Education. The student-to-faculty ratio is 11:1 which in turn leads to personalized attention, providing opportunities for students to build strong relationships with their professors. Many of the faculty are known to go the extra mile to support students.

Housing options include dorms (either singles or doubles) and apartments. The facilities are generally considered to be adequate. Some students note that the residential life staff is supportive and organizes numerous activities throughout the school year to promote a sense of community.

Student life is said to be quite active. There's a diverse range of student organizations and clubs from academic honor societies, to cultural organizations, to recreational clubs. Do note though, as it's a Catholic university, there are some faith-based activities and organizations that might be relevant depending on your personal interest in such opportunities.

One potential downside noted by some students is that being a smaller university, there may not be as many course options or resources as at larger universities. But overall, students seem to appreciate the small-community feel and supportive environment. Keep in mind these are general observations, and everyone's experience can vary. It also might be helpful to reach out to current students or alumni if possible, or even visit the campus if you have the chance.
