Hey folks, I'm a junior stuck in the college search process and I could really use your help. I want to study architecture, but stay on the west coast...specifically Washington state. Do any of you know good schools for architecture there?
Certainly, Washington State has some excellent schools where you can pursue an architecture degree.
First off, the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in architecture. The school is well-regarded for its diverse course offerings, ranging from architectural design to history/theory and building technology. The department boasts a strong faculty with a wide array of expertise.
Another option is Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman. WSU's School of Design and Construction offers an accredited Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (BS Arch) degree. This program is a stepping stone to their Master of Architecture, which is a professional degree accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).
Last but not least, there's the Seattle University. While they don't have an architecture major, they do have architectural studies, where you can get a solid foundation in design, history, and theory in preparation for further architectural studies at the graduate level.
However, as you evaluate these schools, it wouldn't hurt to examine first-hand student experiences, course structures, faculty research, etc., to determine which program aligns best with your academic goals and personal interests.
