Difficulty level of Statistics: Is it Easy?

Been thinking about courses for my senior year. I'm considering taking Statistics but my math skills are just average. From those who've taken it, is Statistics easy to grasp?

The difficulty level of a course like Statistics can depend on a multitude of factors such as your familiarity with mathematical concepts, your teacher's instructional style, and your commitment to understanding and applying the course material. In general, pace of the course is steady but not overly rapid, with a focus on understanding the concepts and their applications rather than rote learning. For someone with average math skills, it can provide a different perspective on utilizing numbers and data, as it focuses more on data analysis and interpretation rather than algebraic or geometric manipulations. Many students find that they can handle Statistics if they stay on top of the coursework and seek help when needed. Note that it’s less about complex calculation and more about comprehending significant concepts and learning to interpret data. In essence, you'll be addressing questions like "What does this set of data imply?" or "What is the likelihood of this event happening?"

Practice plays a key role. The more you solve problems, the more comfortable you'll be with figuring out which formulas or concepts to apply in different scenarios. One thing worth mentioning is that a lot of students find that the use of practical, real-world scenarios in Statistics helps in understanding the subject well. It's an applied discipline so you get to see where and how the theories you learn are used, which can make the subject quite engaging.

All that being said, if you've found that you struggle significantly with math sections, or have difficulty understanding new mathematical concepts, you may want to consider other classes that align more closely with your skills and interests.
