Junior here aiming for some of the Ivies. I’ve heard QuestBridge is a great program if you qualify, but can I cover all my bases by using Common App as well? How do colleges view this?
Absolutely, you can indeed apply using both the QuestBridge application and the Common App. QuestBridge is a fantastic program for students who meet their qualifications in terms of academic excellence and financial need. It can offer an early advantage through the National College Match, however, not all institutions you might be interested in will be QuestBridge partners.
That's where the Common App can complement your strategy by allowing you to apply to a wide range of schools, including the Ivies. Colleges understand that students are trying to navigate the application process in the way that best suits their circumstances, so there's no negative connotation attached to applying through multiple platforms. Just make sure to stay organized to keep track of different deadlines and requirements for each application.
And remember that if you are selected as a QuestBridge Finalist and decide to rank schools for the Match, you must adhere to the rules regarding applying to other schools, which can sometimes include not submitting early applications through the Common App to certain colleges. Good luck with your applications!
