American University has shut down campus visits and tours due to the coronavirus outbreak, and many families are worried about choosing a college without being able to visit in person and get a feel for campus life. In this Q&A session, we'll ask our panel of current American University students a series of questions about everything ranging from campus life to safety to the classroom experience. Webinar attendees will also get to participate in the second half of the Q&A.
Q&A Participants:
Alexandra Weed is a junior from Philiadelpha, Pennsylvania. She attends both the McKinley School of Communications and the Kogod School of Business. Alexandra is a major in Public Relations and Strategic Communications with a minor in Business Entertainment. During her time at American she has had the opportunity to intern at numerous entertainment companies, such as ABC, NBC, and The CW. On campus, she is an active member of the Public Relations Student Society of America while serving as President of her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. In her free time Alexandra enjoys spending time with her friends visiting all of the DC "hot spots," working out, cooking, or just relaxing on her couch.
Alexis Cushman is a junior from Chappaqua, New York currently living in Westport, Connecticut. She attends the Kogod School of Business majoring in Business Administration with a Marketing specialization. Alexis is an executive member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, leading 2020 recruitment. In addition, she plays on the women's club volleyball team. In her free time Alexis enjoys cooking, visiting Georgetown and getting coffee or brunch downtown with friends.
Sam Harmon was born and raised in Houston, TX, and is one of four children. He is a junior at American University in the Kogod School of Business, majoring in Business Administration, specializing in Finance. He is also an avid tennis player, and enjoys watching and playing most recreational sports. Additionally, Sam and his friend Clark are in a band called Clam. They can sometimes be found performing rock 'n roll hits from the 60's and 70's in the campus coffee lounge, The Bridge.
