Description

Ask current neuroscience students questions about their major! On this panel, we will explore all topics related to studying neuroscience, such as internship opportunities, class size, post-grad careers, and coursework. Livestream viewers will get to vote on questions and ask their own. Stop in to ask a few questions or stick around for the whole hour to learn from other viewers' questions!

Meet the panelists: Brooke, Nishtha, and Elise

Brooke Elkjer is a junior originally from Dallas, Texas. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, both through the Dornsife School of Letters, Arts, & Sciences at the University of Southern California. Brooke is the associate literary producer for the intersectional feminist production company on campus, ART/EMIS. She also is a Resident Assistant (RA) and a student worker for the Thematic Option Honors GE Program. In her free time, Brooke enjoys reading, writing, and painting.

Nishtha Trivedi is a junior at the Honors College of Rutgers University New Brunswick. She is pursuing a Bachelor's in Cell Biology and Neuroscience with minors in Cognitive Science and Comparative Literature. Nish is an undergraduate researcher in a neuroscience lab at Rutgers, as well as a Fellow with Rutgers Women in Neuroscience. Outside of school, she enjoys playing guitar, cooking, and watching movies with friends.

Elise Turke is a senior at Michigan State University. She is from Grand Rapids, Michigan and is a current Neuroscience major with a Spanish minor. She has recently applied to medical school. She is a member of the varsity Swimming & Diving team, an all-treble a cappella group called Ladies First, and a Clinical Psychophysiology research lab. Outside of all this, she enjoys being outdoors with her friends, reading historical romance novels, and binge watching crime television shows.
