About this livestream

Description

Ask current history students questions about their major! On this panel, we will explore all topics related to studying history, such as internship opportunities, class size, post-grad careers, and coursework. Livestream viewers will get to vote on questions and ask their own. Stop in to ask a few questions or stick around for the whole hour to learn from other viewers' questions!

Meet the panelists: Matt, Ellen, and Araceli

Matt is a junior from South Florida studying History at Yale. He's an award-winning documentary filmmaker and serves as Video Projects Editor for The Politic, Yale's politics and culture newsmagazine. He's also a writer and performer for Red Hot Poker, Yale's premier sketch comedy group. When he's not Zooming into classes, you can find Matt chugging coffee (black), talking about Freud (obsessively), and mocking people who like Peloton (which he recently discovered is actually kind of a good app but don't tell any of the people he has mocked).

Ellen is a rising senior double concentrating in Applied Math-Biology and History at Brown. She has interests ranging from modeling human movement for injury prevention and rehabilitation to studying colonialism and post-colonial impact. She is pre-med and has conducted research in multiple disciplines, runs a community supported agriculture (CSA) organization, is a member of the Women’s Club Volleyball team, is a mentor for freshman and sophomore, works for the admissions office, and is taking the semester off to work full time in her research lab. Besides academics, she is training for a triathalon, is an avid foodie, and knows how to kick back and have a good time.

Araceli Arizpe is a senior at Middlebury College from San Antonio, Texas. She is majoring in International Global Studies with a focus on the region of the Middle East and minoring in History. On campus she is a member of several social justice groups, works as a Tour Guide Coordinator with the Admissions office, and is a research assistant with a Professor in the Arabic department.
