Ask current UCLA students questions about academics, campus life, dorm living, and more.
UCLA has shut down campus visits and tours due to the coronavirus outbreak, and many families are worried about choosing a college without being able to visit in person and get a feel for campus life. In this Q&A session, we'll ask our panel of current UCLA students a series of questions about everything ranging from campus life to athletics to the classroom experience. Webinar attendees will also get to participate in the second half of the Q&A.
Q&A Participants:
Cate Remphrey is a 2nd year student from Villanova, Pennsylvania studying Physiological Sciences with a minor in Evolutionary Medicine. She is involved with hospital volunteering, club softball, UCLA Residential Life, and the UCLA Sports Medicine Program on campus. Cate hopes to work in medicine as a physician or physician’s assistant after graduating from UCLA.
Rachana Jayaraman is a second year Computational and Systems Biology (CASB) major and is planning to do a concentration in bioinformatics. She is currently working in a cancer biology lab, and is also actively involved in Colleges Against Cancer, Life Sciences Student Association, and a neurotech competition team. In her free time, she likes to explore LA and spend time with her friends.
Tyra Nguyen is a second-year at UCLA majoring in physiological science with the goal of becoming a physician. She is from Portland, Oregon and enjoys hiking and Salt & Straw ice cream. Tyra volunteers at the nearby Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and does research with UCLA Radiology. During this quarantine, she is tutoring and mentoring students through CovEd.
Vanshika Arora is a sophomore at UCLA, majoring in Economics, with a double minor in Accounting and Film & TV. She’s involved in Student Accounting Society, UC Womxn’s Leadership Conference, and works as a Peer Advisor at the UCLA Career Center. In her free time, you can find Vanshika feasting in one of UCLA’s (award-winning!) dining halls or hiking with her friends!
