Description

Ask current UC San Diego students questions about academics, campus life, dorm living, and more.

UC San Diego has shut down campus visits and tours due to the coronavirus outbreak, and many families are worried about choosing a college without being able to visit in person and get a feel for campus life. In this Q&A session, we'll ask our panel of UC San Diego students a series of questions about everything ranging from campus life to athletics to the classroom experience. Webinar attendees will also get to participate in the second half of the Q&A.

Q&A Participants:

Kaia Simpson is a freshman human biology major from Seattle, Washington. She is a premed student in Marshall college and a pitcher on the UCSD NCAA women’s softball team. She loves teaching swimming lessons to kids in the summer and is taking a class this summer to become a licensed EMT. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, watching criminal minds, practicing softball with her sister, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog.

Prothit Halder is currently a first year student from San Jose. He is a Mathematics-Computer Science major in Marshall College. Prothit is the Marketing Director of ACM, one of UCSD’s largest computing organizations. Outside of school, he loves hanging out with friends, walking down to the beach to watch the sunset, and going to concerts!

Rachel Chiang is a first-year communication and global health major at the University of California, San Diego. She is originally from Hong Kong and has lived in Minnesota for two years before relocating to San Diego. Rachel is an active member of the on-campus international politics and affairs publication, the Prospect Journal, and is involved with two internships- one with College Magazine and one with CALPIRG, an activist organization. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with friends, reading, writing, learning languages, and keeping up with politics.

Zach Gonsiorowski is a first year at UC San Diego from Granite Bay, California. He is studying International Business while playing for the school’s NCAA Baseball team as they make the transition from D2 in the CCAA conference to D1 in the Big West Conference.
