Will the removal of SAT Scores Requirement for UC applicants make admissions more competetive?

lots of students at my school have high gpas and test scores are what normally separates us.

Remember that they became test OPTIONAL for 2021 graduates. If you are confident in your scores, send them in. They will still consider your scores as a part of the application.

I would say that one recognize that since they are test OPTIONAL submitting impressive test scores will still help you in the admissions process, but also recognize that colleges as a whole have been transitioning away from weighing standardized tests as heavily anyways and that the strength of your extracurriculars and essays will carry a more significant weight. I don't think that you should be too worried about the transition to test optional.
