Admissions Advice

Hi, I'm a junior in highschool. Do honors classes matter that much?
Answered

I'm a junior and I haven't taken a single honors or AP class, will this look bad on an application? I do plan on taking one or two AP classes next year, but am I already in a bad position with none on my transcript so far?

No, you still have plenty of opportunities to make your application great. Classes and grades are important, but they aren't everything. You have plenty of opportunities to grab colleges' attention through test scores, extracurriculars, and essays. Try to get the best grades you can in your classes this year, and next year, sign up for a couple AP classes. Don't worry, you aren't in a bad position at all. You have plenty of time to raise your GPA through AP classes next year.

It depends on what colleges you're looking at. Unless you're looking at top schools, most colleges won't mind your coursework.
