I am a Junior in high school and am planning to apply to the University of Texas at Austin. Does anyone have any application tips for me?Thanks!
Go to the university's website and look at their statistics on the students they've accepted for the previous year. See the average GPA, SAT scores, etc. of the students they've accepted, & try to match those or do better.
not much that would be different from most other really big competitive schools—start preparing early, try to have all your test scores and grades up within the range of students that they usually accept, keep pushing for leadership and responsibilities in your extracurriculars, and make sure you spend time on your essays. UT requires quite a few extra essays—in the past it's been one big personal statement and then several shorter essays that each applicant needs to submit. those will take some time, so prepare for that.
