Just wanted to know.
You can trust this about as much as you can trust a random person from one of your classes. probably good, but there is definitely a luck of the draw type of thing
Collegevine is more or less a peer forum/wiki
As such a lot of people reviewing are highschoolers or college students.
The way I review the essays is to look at the wording/grammar of each sentence and then edit it as a comment and then I reread and give feedback and address the essay as a whole.
But also you submitted it for editing they dont rewrite it so you can take their opinions into account and then implement some/all of their suggestions
you can generally trust the essay evaluating system. its better to post your essay more then once so you can max out the feedback you'll get just in case you do get a bad review
I've had a decent amount of success with the essay reviews. Sure, not 100% of them are the most helpful, but like @TMiller2002 said, a lot of people provide really great feedback and you can tell they spent a lot of time to review your essay. When i get a review that isn't helpful, I give it a low rating (out of 5 stars). I'm assuming that will go against the reviewer somehow. When I review essays I usually spend 20 or more minutes and try to give helpful advice, including grammar, essay structure, and topic.

My advice would be to submit your essay many times! There’s some people on here who will do a quick scan through and not give one helpful piece of information. However, there’s some people who genuinely take the time to nit pick at every part of the essay to make sure it’s written the best it can be.
I think getting any type of feedback from anyone is great. Just remember you don’t necessarily have to listen to every recommendation given!
