Should I make a new email?

Hello! So applications open tomorrow, and I've heard from a few people that it's really helpful to make a completely new email account for college app process. Is this true? Any input?

Yes, you should! By using your personal email, you would be overwhelmed by the amount of college-related emails you will receive and some of it may fall through. To keep yourself sane during the college admission process, I think it would be best to have a separate email. Good luck and remember to also enjoy your last year of high school! :)

It can definitely be helpful! People recommend it because you can end up getting A LOT of emails from colleges, both promotional ones and important ones you actually need to pay attention to. Also, if you're like many people (I'm guilty of this) you might have made your email when you were younger and could have picked an email that isn't the most professional. If that's the case for you then I think it makes sense to make another email. It doesn't have to be only used for college admissions but having a professional sounding email will be important regardless so it makes sense to get it out of the way now.
