what are the best? the most prestige? should I stay in the us or go to London which will provide me better resources or equip me better to become a doctor????
There are certainly more Medical schools the US than in London. The latest rankings I've seen was this:
Harvard
JHU
Stanford
UCSF
UToronto
UWashington
UPenn
Oxford
Duke
UCLA
Columbia
UMich
Yale
ICL
UCL
Personally, I don't think there is a Best or most Prestigious because it depends on where you live and who your people are. If you live in England, maybe attending Oxford or Cambridge is the top drawer just like if you go to Eton or Harrow for public school. And in the US, if you live on the West Coast, Stanford and UCLA are the best but on the East Coast there are so many great schools like Brown, Harvard, Cornell, NYU, JHU, BU, Columbia, Yale, and I don't really think it matters so much. Is a Yale doctor going to turn up his nose at a Brown doctor, doubtful. Also, the admissions criteria between Top 45 Medical Schools is so tight you'd be splitting hairs on who gets in and who doesn't. The MCAT range is 514-522 for the top 45 schools.
I don't think anyone on here could make that decision for you. I think if you are in a rush to become a doctor perhaps you can start earlier in the UK. Here 99% of Medical Students apply and matriculate after they have already graduated from Undergrad for 4 years. Many of them have taken 1 to 2 years as a gap year as well.
Good Luck
Any of the Ivy League (Harvard, Stanford, Yale...) schools would have good medical programs. Johns Hopkins is typically the first to come to mind when people ask about prestigious medical programs. I'm not entirely sure what the prestigious med schools in London are, so...
