Competitions on Additional Information

Hi,

When filling out my application, should I input all one-time competitions I've participated (but didn't win) on the additional information section?

And is it okay for me to input one-time activities too?

Any information would be helpful, thanks!

You can, but it likely won't do anything for you. The additional information section is mainly what you feel your application would be incomplete without - competitions you entered but didn't win aren't going to complete your application. If you wouldn't put it in awards (if you had the space), I wouldn't put it in at all.

With regards to activities, I definitely would not (unless they're one year of national honor society that you just couldn't fit in the activities section). Adding a one-day or one-week activity that isn't something significant will only make it seem like you're trying to add too much. Remember that college admissions officers are going to spend a maximum of 15 minutes with your application. The goal is quality over quantity.

Just saw that this question was already answered - oops.
