Admissions Advice

Two questions
Answered

All the schools that I'm applying for don't require recommendation letters. I was thinking of asking some teachers but I haven't made any close enough relationships. If I don't submit any letters will it lower my chances of acceptance? I didn't even have a junior year because of Covid.

Second question is, am I able to submit an application after a deadline? Unfortunately I missed the deadline for a college because I was unprepared but I still have hope to apply and get accepted. Will they take it even after the date or no?

If a recommendation is not required and you do not have any close advocates in your corner to write on your behalf, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you apply past the deadline, just prepare yourself for your application not to be included into the pool. White some schools may take them a day or two late, most schools will not.

Good luck.

Answer to the first question:

The requirement for recommendation letters varies from school to school, and if the schools you're applying to do not require them, then not submitting them should not necessarily lower your chances of acceptance. However, recommendation letters can provide valuable information about your abilities and character, and can help to round out your application and make you stand out as a candidate. If you're not able to submit letters, it's still important to make sure that your application is strong and showcases your best qualities and accomplishments.

Answer to the second question:

Whether a school will accept an application after the deadline depends on the individual institution's policies. Some schools may be flexible and accept late applications on a case-by-case basis, while others may have a strict deadline policy and not accept any applications that are submitted after the deadline has passed.

It's best to reach out to the admission office of the college you missed the deadline for and ask about their policy for late applications. If they do accept late applications, be sure to explain the circumstances for why you missed the deadline and emphasize your strong interest in attending the school. If the school does not accept late applications, you may want to consider https://www.covidtests.co.uk/products/healgen-lateral-flow-covid-self-tests-single-5-pack applying to other colleges that fit your interests and goals.

From my understanding, a few colleges do not require recommendation letters with the purpose of streamlining their acceptance/admissions process. So if you do not have any recommendation letters (for those schools) it should not impact your chances. In regards to you not having a close relationship with your teachers, I can totally relate. I would recommend that you talk with your school counselor to obtain a letter along with asking the teacher you feel most comfortable with.

Submitting your application after a deadline. From what I've learned you can still submit your application after said "deadline". While it is highly recommended you get your application in as soon as possible to increase your selection, many colleges have what is known as a "Rolling Admission". I recommend getting in contact with the university Admission Office and inquiry about their application processes.
