Should I major in IT?
Answered

I never really considered it, but I help my family ALL the time with technology and how to work it. My parents think IT is a good career for me. If I am good at helping people with technology, is IT a good major for me?

I think you need to look at what you're interested in, like what are your favorite subjects at school? or what are your favorite clubs/things to do outside? If helping your family with technology is something that you love to do, then go for it! Along with mastering types of technologies, you need mastery of C++, java, python, linux etc. Information technology is also a broad field, with many aspects, so you need to find what in IT interests you. good luck!

You will also need a lot of patience as some people are supremely illiterate with computers for sample look at reddit tales from tech support and you get an idea but you can make good money though you will probably have to learn other software like C++ or sales software like salesforce/oracle not just be good with computers but computer science/IT is a booming field which is good but it also requires you to be more competitive typically just at or above the entire university mid 50%.
