I was wondering how I should study for my AP exams, and even though they are a few months off I want to be well prepared and be able to get a 5 on both my AP exams.
The two AP classes I am taking are AP Physics 1 and AP Human Geography.
Any study tips, especially for the physics exam?
As far as study tips go, make sure to start studying at least a month or so in advance! For specific resources, first and foremost I would recommend the College Board website, specifically the resources on AP Classroom. In addition to this, I know Khan Academy offers some resources as well. If your looking for resources that aren't just online, companies such as The Princeton Review offer study books for most (if not all) AP subjects.
Please let me know if you have any other questions! :)
@mslilywind listed some great resources you can use, and if you need more help don't be afraid to talk to your teacher or go to extra help sessions/hours. I personally recommend gopeer.com tutoring. The lessons are $20/hr and given by college kids who took the exams you are studying for in recent years. You can enter availability and subjects you want to be tutored in, they message you, and you can look at reviews to find a good tutor. I got tutored in AP Physics 1 by someone who really helped me understand the concepts better. You should know that's one of the toughest AP exams, with the lowest pass rate, and you really need to commit to studying hard for it if you want to strive for a 5, as very few achieve that. Review everything you have learned so far, noting anything you can't grasp well to spend more time studying it. And make sure you understand both the conceptual and mathematical aspects of the material, like be able to explain concepts using both formulas AND ideas.
@mslilywind and @kat.in.the.shat both have some great ideas on how you can study for the tests. I haven't taken AP Physics but I took AP Human Geography and I can say that the AP Daily videos as well as the College Board YouTube videos were a great help as well as Mr. Sinn's YouTube channel. Also, don't forget to ask your teacher for help or clarifications and go to tutorials if you need extra help! You can also look over old released versions of the AP Tests and pace yourself so you get a basic idea of how the questions are and what you need to work on. From what I remember, the AP Human Geography test was mainly vocabulary-based, the questions were easy to answer if you knew the terms the questions were talking about. I made flashcards and used Quizlet to help remember the terms, but you should do whatever helps you learn the best. Good luck with your AP Tests!
