How important are completed courses?
Answered

I am currently a HS junior with a good GPA and good PSAT scores and course selections in terms of AP (6 courses by graduation) and Honors (7 courses by graduation). So far Texas| UT Austin is my top school and I meet their application requirements. However, they recommend taking physics, chem, and bio as my three required sciences but I took AP environmental science over physics. I chose not to take a science senior year and replaced it with Honors Accounting 2. I thought this would be a good idea since I want to double major in finance and accounting. But I'm not sure how important it is to take physics and therefore if it's worth it to swap it with accounting.

If you want to attend UT Austin, I would take physics because they recommend it and there is a lot of competition to get accepted if you live in the State. I don't recommend any HS students taking specific business classes because these courses are atypical and most likely will not translate into getting college credit for them.

I would wait until I got accepted into their business program to decide what your major or double major is going to be. You will be exposed to a lot more information and coursework that will better inform you.

Good luck.
