Admissions Advice

Should I write about this in my college essay?

So for my college app I plan on writing on a website I coded, but that website is no longer up and running. I really want to write about it because it helps describe a problem I solved, but I don't want admission officers to think I'm lying. Should I just not write about it or specify that it is no longer up? What is the odd's of them actually looking up the website?

Depends on what happened to the website. If you took it down willingly or a and accident occurred and your fine with sharing and explaining the reason to then go ahead but if it was taken down or something in that area write about something different.
