Admissions Essays

Anyone have any good prompts they've heard of or tried their hand at? I like to write argumentative pieces but I'm terrified I won't do myself justice in 600~ words.

There are hundreds of college admission prompts in the United States; they vary significantly in length and complexity. However, here are some of my favorites :)

- You are teaching a new Yale course. What is it called? (Yale University)

- Tell us about the most unusual talent you have, and how you have made it useful (Richmond University)

- What is the truest thing you know? (Villanova University)

- What historical moment or event do you wish you could have witnessed? (Stanford University)

- What's so easy about pie? (University of Chicago)

Yes, the last one is a real essay prompt :)
