Hi, I'm an international student who is taking AP Computer Science Principles this year.
I don't like posting my questions on unofficial forums, so although this isn't really related to college admissions, I was wondering if I could still get answers here since my question is about a high school course.
I'm preparing for the AP Computer Science Principles exam which I'll be taking in a few days. Our class has recently found out yesterday that the Albert scoring calculator for AP Computer Science Principles (https://www.albert.io/blog/ap-computer-science-principles-score-calculator/) has changed. The curve is a lot harder(?) if that makes sense. For example, the last time I checked, people could still get a 5 on the overall exam even if they have a 3/6 or 4/6 on the Create Performance Task as long as they get at least 20 multiple choice questions wrong. However, for this new curve, even with a 6/6, you need to get only 10 questions wrong from the multiple choice question portion of the exam. If you get a 5/6 for the Create Performance Task, you need to get at least 5 multiple choice questions wrong.
I'm really confused, but my school teacher doesn't really care because he's kind of new to this and he's not expecting a 5 from every student in his class.
I've been trying to search the Internet to see if anyone is talking about it as well, but the last time I checked, there hasn't been any posts about this.
Thank you.
I don't think this will be the exact curve used when grading the AP exam...
The curve changes yearly based on how the students perform so it may change after the actual exam is taken(?)
Not sure tho--
According to the statistics 66.5% could pass, passing assuming being 3,4,5. I think they raised the difficulty rate because they wanted it to be more challenging so that college board could earn more money via retakes. I don´t here people talking about it because well, they are more focused on the harder ap exams like AP Physics or APUSH i assume.

Yeah I just noticed this too. And the real annoying thing is that for some collages you need a 5 on the exam to get credit for a class. And they are probably not going to change that requirement anytime soon. Super anoying
