Which research summer program to pick?

I got into both the Garcia Summer Scholars program at Stony Brook University and BU RISE at Boston University, and I’m not sure which one is a more helpful extracurricular for college apps. I want to go into chemistry or chemical engineering, and both seem like great opportunities. Which one should I choose?

Both of them are excellent programs and you cannot go wrong with either choice. I suggest basing your decision on the faculty at each institution. If one of the programs has a mentor who specializes in the area of chemistry that you are interested in, you should go for it.

Another factor to consider is location. Stony Brook has a more rural location than BU, which could be a positive or negative depending on how you look at it. Hope this helps!
