Advice on what to Major in?
Answered

I want to become a lawyer, maybe a criminal lawyer but I am not sure. I want to make sure I Major in something useful for the lsat and law school, something that I won’t regret.

Would it be a good idea to Major in Political Science and minor in psychology? Or Major in Political Science and minor in philosophy or sociology? Or Major in Political science and minor in economics? Or Major in political science and minor in criminal justice?

Are these managable?

Completing a major and a minor is certainly manageable! Lots of students do so in a variety of fields.

With that said, I recommend choosing to major in political science and minor in criminal justice. Political science will build up the skills in writing, logic, and argumentation you will need for the LSAT, and it is also a dynamic major that is relevant to a lot of different career fields. Criminal justice is a great minor to add because it will expose you to the practical side of law. Hope this helps!

If you search up on google you will find this article: https://www.opploans.com/oppu/college-resources/best-majors-for-lawyers/

Many of the majors mentioned there are the same/similar to the ones that you are interested in taking. I think that your best bet is to choose something that you find interesting or think will be beneficial to you in the future from the list above as it will look good when you apply to law school.

Hope this helps
