Admissions Advice

apply to a specific school or undecided?

I want to be a business major but my grades/ test scores are middle of the road (3.6 weighted) does the community recommend to apply directly to the business schools OR apply general and then work on getting into that specific school?

Hi @deb_s

Thanks for your question. It's a great one. I think there is way too much emphasis on high school students trying to get into the Wharton Penn or Stern NYU when there are only 500-600 available undergrad seats at those schools.

If you want to study business there are great business schools that offer undergraduate degrees. With a 3.6 you can certainly shoot your shot and apply directly. Sometimes it's harder or not guaranteed you can even transfer from say humanities to the business school if you pick a less subscribed major.

I picked these 10 schools for you that depending on your ECs, recommendations, Essays, and test scores, I think you have a good chance at. They are all in the Top 40 best undergraduate business programs.

TCU (texas)- 3.64

Santa Clara (CA) - 3.69

St. Johns (NY) - 3.68

Syracuse University (NY) - 3.74

Fordham (NY) - 3.68

Bucknell (PA) -3.64

Tulane (LA) - 3.58

University of Richmond (VA) - 3.71

University of Miami (FL) - 3.65

University of the Pacific (CA) - 3.58

If you do well at these, you can work a couple of years and go for your MBA at Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, MIT, etc.

Good luck.

Run, jump, climb, slide. Do all it takes to survive in this tough world of vex 3. Much fun!

vex 3 is the third platform game in the Vex series. The game is full of twists and turns, with a maze of deadly devices and traps to navigate on each level. Avoid spinning blades, spikes, and traps to advance to the next action!
